Recent Break-ins and Thefts on Campus
Public Safety has reported multiple occurrences of break-ins on-campus between December and January. Faculty and staff noticed that computers and other electronic hardware were stolen from Harrison Hall and Olin after Winter Term. Director of Public Safety, Angie Nally, reports that a group of individuals ranging in age from 14 to 18 years old have been detained for stealing the property from academic buildings. These individuals now face possible felony charges of burglary and theft of personal property. Public Safety is also in the process of further investigation into a stolen textbook case. Nally assures that proper measures of prevention and safety have been taken, including officers monitoring buildings longer at night and future card access-only entrance into all academic buildings. The DePauw community is encouraged to guard their possessions and not leave doors propped open.
