Putnam County Council Meeting
The Putnam County Council held their regular session this Tuesday at the Courthouse Annex. The council is responsible for reviewing the county’s fiscal affairs, determining where the funds should be directed and approving annual operating budgets. President Darrel Thomas began their session focusing on financial and fiscal policies. Cut one: 11 seconds "Quick issues for the year are closing the court house annex and continued support of our budget for 2012."
The council also discussed issues regarding allocating money for repairing law enforcement vehicles and a proposal for shift differential for law enforcement officers. Ty Sutherlin brought up the dilemma of homeless animals, who have been roaming around the town and getting killed. The council is planning on determining a solution over the next couple of weeks to solve this problem. After discussing the county’s issues for over two hours the council resolved and approved a range of financial proposals.
