ATHLETICS FACILITIES PLANNING PROCESS
President Casey sent a message to students, faculty, and staff Thursday regarding the official launch of development plans for the athletics and recreational sports facilities. The development will be in partnership with facilities planning architectural firm, Hastings-Chivetta. Hastings-Chivetta will guide athletic and recreation facilities improvements over the next several years. The focus of the project will be the expansion and renovation of Lilly Center and improvements to DePauw’s athletic fields.
The projects are being funded through alumni gifts. Casey says fundraising efforts are underway and several initial gifts have already been pledged. Specific gifts have not yet been announced. Casey says he believes this process will leave a lasting legacy for DePauw students, faculty, and staff.
Athletic Director, Stevie Baker-Watson, and Associate Vice President for Facilities, Richard Vance, are leading planning conversations with coaches and athletics staff.
