Greencastle School Corporation Rating
The Indiana Department of Education distributed their grades for each school system earlier this month. Greencastle Community Schools have received their grade but are not allowed to publish it until October 31st. This was changed from the original date of October 10th. According to the Indiana Department of Education, the scores are based on an A to F scale. Academic growth, graduation rates, as well as college readiness are all measured when calculating the grade. The assistant superintendent of Greencastle Schools, Dawn Puckett, said although she cannot give specific details about what the grade is, the administration is very excited about them. According to the DOE’s website, Greencastle received a "C" for the 2010-2011 school year. These grades come out once a year and are aimed to allow parents and community members to recognize how schools are performing throughout the state.
