City Year Recruitment At DePauw
City Year is a non-profit organization that hopes to reduce the high school drop out rate across the country. Young people aging from 17 to 24 years old serve as in-class tutors and as mentors outside the classroom. Unlike Teach For America, City Year corps members are not teachers and are an additional resource in the classroom. Campus recruitment ambassador, Sharon Maes, was a City Year corps member before coming to DePauw in the fall of 2015. Early this school year, she re-connected with City Year and became a campus recruitment ambassador. Maes believes that City Year is a fantastic post-grad option for DePauw students.
Maes is currently recruiting seniors for City Year. The requirements are pretty basic and students of any major are encouraged to apply. Those looking for more information should visit the City Year website at www.cityyear.org or contact Sharon Maes at email@example.com.
